Three years ago, today, I closed my first deal as an entrepreneur. I wrote this super long essay to describe the employee to entrepreneur journey, but it was too long 😂. So here's what I'll say about it instead: 👇🏻
I think life is about finding and riding your waves 🌊. The waves 🌊 represent the grace you experience when you find your thing (or things). And those things don't find you unless you search for them from a place of love ❤️ instead of fear. Scarcity and fear won't ever lead you to your waves 🌊 because those aren't powerful forces. The ocean 🌊 needs powerful forces and elements to create waves 🌊 . Things like gravity. But here's the deal:⠀
Waves 🌊 are most commonly caused by wind 💨 . Wind-driven waves 🌊 , or surface waves 🌊 , are created by the FRICTION between wind 🌬 and surface water 💦 . As wind 💨 blows across the surface of the ocean 🌊 or a lake, the continual disturbance creates a wave 🌊 crest. ....⠀
Here's what I believe this means: your soul is an ocean 🌊 . And we are all doing the deep work every single day to present something to the surface. And you must use the powerful element of love ❤️ to get to the surface and BREATHE. Because when you bring love ❤️ to the surface, which can't be done without SEARCHING the depths of the ocean 🌊 for it, AND that love ❤️ meets the SPIRIT-driven wave 🌊 , then your job is to simply wake up, grab that old familiar surfboard, and RIDE that grace wave 🌊 . EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. It's a trip, though because you didn't create the ocean 🌊 or the wave 🌊 or the gravity. And then you realize that you weren't meant to. But you do look around as you're surfing on that grace wave and see HOW BIG the ocean 🌊 is and HOW SMALL you are. And you yield to it AND JUST RIDE. Oh, and you do one more thing before you come down off the wave: You look to your right to see the beautiful sunrise 🌅 coming up ahead and with tears streaming down your face, you simply say, "thank you."⠀
And this, my friends, is how I feel every day in my entrepreneurial journey thus far. Cheers to 3 years. Thanks to every client and friend that has worked with me so far. Here's to more surfing!
